Ethervela is my original project that began back in 2015 and have been fleshing out ever since. The idea originated from a simple character sketch. I was basically finding a way to play with shapes by replacing the hair with geometry and seeing what combinations I could find that were visually interesting. The characters started to evolve into something more organic that resembled a kind of biological formation. Soon after, I realized these whimsical characters needed a story and a world to live in which would allow me to be creative and expand on this new aesthetic. The creative potential of this idea really captivated me, and I continued to draw more characters which in turn generated visions of sci-fi environments that would naturally unfold scenarios in my mind, further developing this once simple idea.
